Hero Splendor Electric Motorcycle: Today more and more automakers are switching to electric vehicles. As a result, we see the launch of several electric vehicles in the Indian market, be it the four-wheeler or the two-wheeler segment.
Internal combustion (IC) engine vehicles still make up the majority of all vehicles on the road.
Hero Splendor Electric Motorcycle Render
Vinay Raj Somashekar, an automotive designer, has imagined the Hero Splendor electric motorcycle and has created a render of the same.
“The Hero Splendor is the most quintessential motorcycle in the country, period. Its appearance is iconic and ageless. There is almost nothing random about its design. Every element feels meaningful and purposeful, and the proportions are spot on,” he wrote on his LinkedIn profile while sharing the render.

“It’s kind of like Maggi Noodles. If tomorrow, they ship Maggi with 10% more garlic, the customer will be able to tell the difference, and will probably not accept the new version. The Splendor is something like that. It can’t be messed around with. They (Hero) shifted to clear lens multi-reflector halogens in 2004, self-start in 2010, and the seat was slightly lengthened in 2020. That’s it. Someday however, the inevitable must happen. It (Splendor) must go electric. But how?”
With this thought process, Vinay came up with the render of the Hero Splendor Electric. The bike seen in the render retains most of the signature design elements of the petrol-powered Splendor. A few key variations can also be seen.
So, he has shown a battery in a black casing instead of the engine and transmission assembly.
The blue accents on the alloy wheels, headlight casing, central panel and rear fender make the bike look attractive. A one-piece plastic grab rail borrowed from HF Deluxe has replaced the standard stainless steel one.
The branding is modified a bit and you see “eSplendor” in blue, while the rear fender has an “Urban” tag.
Hero Splendor Electric Specs
As per the render, Hero Splendor electric motorcycle would come fitted with a 4kWh fixed battery powering a 9kW electric motor that drives the rear wheels via a silent belt drive. There’s also room for a 2kWh secondary battery, which could most likely be a removable unit. The additional battery pack boosts the single charge range by up to 50%.
The 4kWh battery pack provides a range of 120km on a single charge, while an additional 6kWh battery boosts that figure to 180km. The charging port can be accessed through the fuel tank lid.
There are four variants of eSplendor – Default, Utility+, Range+ and Range Max with different configurations.
Hero Splendor Electric on cards?
Well, Hero MotoCorp has not announced any plans to launch the Splendor Electric. However, some aftermarket solutions are available.
A Thane-based EV startup named GoGoA1 has launched an EV conversion kit for Hero Splendor a couple of months ago. In a first, RTO had approved this EV conversion kit for two-wheelers.
