Honda 2W sales analysis: Breaking down the Nov 2022 numbers

Honda Two-Wheelers, a top domestic manufacturer, provides a selection of vehicles. Honda has been in growth mode for a while now thanks to the success of the Activa. In recent years, Honda has added several mid-segment vehicles. Domestic sales increased to 3,53,553 units in November 2022 from 2,56,174 units the previous month. The volume increase at a 38 percent boost was just shy of a lakh units.

At 1,75,084 units, Activa is still the golden egg-laying goose. Volume growth increased by 51k units, or 41 percent, from 1,24,082 units. Sales of CB Shine surpassed one lakh at 1,14,965 units, an increase above 83,622 units. Volume gain was 37.5 percent, or 31k units.

Sales of unicorns than quadrupled to 28,729 units from 15,555 units. 13,174 items or 84.69 percent more were sold. Sales of Dio units nearly increased to 16,102 units from 8,522 units. Volume increased by 7,580 units, or 88.95 percent.

Sales of the Livo decreased from 7,416 to 6,089 units. Volume loss of 1,327 units resulted in a 17.89% volume drop. Sales of dream units decreased from roughly 8,000 units to 4,613 units. From 5,448 units, Grazia sales decreased by less than half to 2,579 units. Sales of the Hness CB350 were down to 2k units from 2.3k units. 1,655 Hornet 2.0 units were sold, according to reports. Sales of the CB300R were recorded as 367 units. Sales of CB200X units dropped to 93. In addition to one GoldWing, 11 CBR 650 units were sold.

Despite being a large two-wheeler manufacturer in India, Honda’s export sales don’t reflect its considerable domestic market position. Honda has long exported a variety of two-wheelers, including motorcycles and scooters, from India to markets all over the world. And the relatively recent Navi, a cutting-edge scooter that has unfortunately only been around for a brief time in India.

Honda has a significant worldwide brand reach. It has established a name for itself as a manufacturer of reliable, high-quality automobiles.

Indian exports are not very numerous. This figure was under 20k units last month.

Navi took the lead with 7,345 units, despite a 5 percent dip. Exports of Dio decreased by 20%, from 4,595 units to 3,655 units. The quantity of X-Blades increased from 2,080 units to 2,352 units. CB Shine volumes decreased by a thousand units, going from 2,960 to 1,913 units. Exports of unicorns increased by more than 50% to 1,680 units from 1,104 units.

Exports of Livo increased to 1.4k units from 1.1k units. Volumes for the Hornet 160R increased by 200 units to 924 units. The number of exports of Activa, which is sold in lakhs in India, was 312. Exports of dreams decreased substantially, from 1.3k units to 100 units. From 24,211 units, total exports for the month decreased to 19,681 units, a fall of 18.71 percent. The volume decrease was 4,530 units.
