Drag race Mahindra xuv 500 VS hondaCity

Another day another Drag race over at YouTube . Yagya Sharma this time around pitted a Honda city vs an old gen XUV500 and the result shocked us . both the cars were pitted against each other in the fairest manner possible and the result was nothing more than just plain shocking.

Engine Specifications

The Honda city is powered by a 4 cylinder naturally aspirated 1500cc engine which produces 97.89 Bhp @ 3600 rpm producing a peak torque of about 200 nm at 1750 rpm. The car was Cvt hence was thought to have disadvantage at a drag race . the Mahindra XUV 500 is powered by a 2000cc four cylinder turbo diesel engine which produces 140BHp @ 3750rpm while and a peak torque of about 320 nm @ 1600- 2800 rpm. So on paper the XUV has the clear advantage.

The Race

The race the participants conducted the race fair and square , and in the first round the XUV 500 won, and after that in every consecutive round the Honda city won , the driver alleging that in the first go using paddle shifter s made him slow. The Vtec technology of the Honda city makes its middle range rpm much more powerful than the XUV 500. Hence  the car won. While on paper there was no way that a Honda city could have beaten a XUV 500

Safety precautions

Although the car were owned privately by the participants its not advisable to conduct such races on public roads. the danger of there being accidents always looms close . Also if proved as this video once published can ,that the owner was in a pursuit of testing the top speed or trying to do a timed run in case of an accident the insurers might turn hesitant to help.

Be safe and ensure others safety as well first.
