Drag races over at YouTube Bring the realities of cars to our screens , a similar Drag race between Honda City VS Honda Civic 1.8 petrol would leave you in shock. Both the cars were privately owned by the competitors and were raced on a closed road.

Engine Specifications
The Honda City is powered by a 1492 cc engine which produces a power output of 97.889BHP @ 3600 RPM with a peak torque of about 200NM at 1750RPM. The Honda Civic is powered a 4 cylinder 130 BHP power producing engine which does so @6300 rpm and produces a peak torque of about 171.62 nm at 4300 rpm. All though City produces less power but has lower weight as well. So on paper even though by a close margin Civic should win.
The Race
In every consecutive run the Civic won the race , as soon as both the cars reached mid range of rpm’s the Civic left the city behind gasping. The Civic being petrol has higher redline a well as better power. Hence as soon as the driver of the civic puts his foot down the City looses fairly. In a few runs the driver of the city couldn’t launch the car properly and lost but there is no way with efficient driving the car would loose. The city gave the civic even after being under powered a close race the civic although being way more powerful won the race
Safety precautions
Although the car were owned privately by the participants its not advisable to conduct such races on public roads. The danger of there being accidents always looms close . Also if proved as this video once published can ,that the owner was in a pursuit of testing the top speed or trying to do a timed run in case of an accident the insurers might turn hesitant to help.
