Tata Motors has subtly poked fun at Mahindra while the maker of the well-liked Scorpio and XUV700 SUVs is getting ready to introduce the XUV400 electric SUV. This is done through the remarkable Nexon EV sales.

Unexpectedly, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEML), the wholly owned EV subsidiary of domestic manufacturer Tata Motors, poked fun at Mahindra & Mahindra when the Tata Nexon EV passed the 35,000 unit sales mark.
On December 3rd, TPEML tweeted: “35,000 > 00.” The soon-to-be-released Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV, which will directly compete with the Tata Nexon EV, was the target of the tweet.

The tweet went on to say: “It’s easy. Be number one today and tomorrow. 35K+ strong electric consumers and expanding with Nexon EV “. In January 2020, Tata announced the Nexon EV.
With models like the Nexon EV, Tigor EV, and Tiago EV on the market, Tata Motors presently dominates India’s emerging passenger EV category. In FY22, the corporation held an 87% market share in the sector.
In September 2022, Mahindra introduced the XUV400 electric SUV. The EV will be available for test drives in 16 locations starting this month, but reservations and pricing announcements won’t start until January 2023.
The XUV400 electric SUV will be introduced in 16 cities during the initial phase. Delivery of it is anticipated to start by the end of January 2023.
Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India have EV ambitions.
By 2026, Tata Motors expects to offer up to 10 electrified vehicles. It debuted the Curvv EV and the Avinya EV concept versions in April of this year.
In August, Mahindra introduced five electric SUVs: the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09. The BE.09 is the one exception, and the other four will be introduced between December 2024 and October 2026.
Six additional electric cars from Hyundai, which presently sells the Kona Electric, will be introduced by 2028. Ioniq 5 will be the first of them to launch. On December 20, the Ioniq 5 will begin accepting reservations.
The first EV from Maruti Suzuki will be introduced in India in 2025. However, the first Maruti EV would be positioned in the premium market rather than the inexpensive sector.
Early in the next year, MG, which presently offers the ZS EV in India, will introduce a more reasonably priced EV there.
