US-based Triton electric vehicle maker recently announced that it is going to launch hydrogen-powered two wheelers and three-wheelers in India soon. Earlier in March, the company had announced that it was going to set up its first manufacturing plant in Bhuj, Gujarat.
CEO and Co-Founder at Triton Electric Vehicle Himangshu Patel made the announcement recently saying, “Very soon we will have our first two-wheeler on Indian roads,” as he confirmed that the EV maker is currently in the production phase of the upcoming two-wheeler and three-wheeler. “Since our priority is to drive the new age mobility, hydrogen-fuel-run vehicles are natural advancements for Triton EV,” Patel added.
Manufacturing plant built on 600 acres
The land of this plant which the company has set up is spread over 600 acres. Hydrogen-based vehicles to be manufactured in India by Triton EV are being developed at its R&D center in Anand near Gujarat’s capital Ahmedabad. The plant will also double as a global R&D center for Triton EVs. Triton EV offers electric cars, trucks and special purpose vehicles for the global markets.
Will this company also make electric vehicles?
Triton EV was earlier expected to set up its plants in Telangana. The company showcased its eight-seater H electric SUV in Hyderabad last year while announcing its India plans. It said the company aims to set up a local manufacturing facility in the country to manufacture electric cars, SUVs and pickup trucks, which will be sold in India and shipped to other Southeast Asian markets.
