YouTube is filled to the brim with automotive videos but a few stands out always. Pratham Shokeen who has been a YouTube sensation pitted his Creta Turbo against a slightly tuned Honda Brio. Although Customization is a grey are in the law books of India but enthusiasts still go after it.
The Creta turbo is powered by a 4 cylinder 1400 cc engine which produces about 138 Bhp @ 6000 rpm and Max torque of about 242 nm @1500-3200 Rpm. While the Honda Brio according to the owner after the tune has about 110Bhp and the torque figures were unclear during the video.
Customization’s Done.
In another video the owner of the Honda Brio spoke more fluently about the changes he had done to his car, these included a K/N High flow air filter , De cat free flow exhaust system ( Hacking off the catalytic converter off the exhaust pipe) . Now although the owner claims that the car now produces about 110 Bhp but there haven’t been any videos of it proving so on a rolling road. plus such a job would increase the back pressure to your engine which would result in Over heating issues as well as engine working under continuous stress.
The Race
While the Honda Brio jumped ahead of Creta in the first run due to its light weight and manual gearbox the Creta ate its lead as its turbo came in to its working range. Even in the second run a similar thing happened the Creta took back its lead after a little bit of distance in the race. The modifications done on the Honda Brio cannot be called a complete tune as the cars Ecu is stock , until and unless you tune the Ecu in a modern vehicle and tweak its air fuel ratios the vehicle isn’t going to produce much more Horse Power. Safety precautions
Although the car were owned privately by the participants it’s not advisable to conduct such races on public roads. The danger of there being accidents always looms close. Also if proved as this video once published can ,that the owner was in a pursuit of testing the top speed or trying to do a timed run in case of an accident the insurers might turn hesitant to help.
