Hyundai is all set to launch the new IONIQ 5 In India and to make it a bigger launch than ever Hyundai has decided that it would bring in the car through CKD route slashing the pricing by a huge margin. While the Indian shores await for the IONIQ 5 the brand has moved ahead to work upon the successor to the current gen IONIQ 5 the all new IONIQ 6.

The brand teased a glimpse of the design language in a recent video over at YouTube. As according to media reports the brand has alleged that the car would look pretty similar to the Prophecy Concept unveiled in March 2020. The IONIQ 6’s profile looks very similar to that of the concept revealed earlier.

New Design

The intrinsic elements of the new design remain to be the curvaceous silhouette followed from the front of the car to the rear with big wheels. The same curve continues from the front till the rear with a spoiler that protrudes out the back as seen the Prophecy Concept. Other elements would include Pixel style headlights as well as taillights and a new Staria.

New Interior

No details about the interior of the car has been officially release yet but a prototype was spotted in Korea last year which gave a brief idea as to what the interior could be like the car had digital cameras in place of traditional wing mirrors and also sported a floating center console that could slide backward and forwards like found in the IONIQ 5. The car will also land with a digital instrument cluster, an advanced head-up display, and a large infotainment system similar to other Hyundai models.

The new IONIQ  6 would be under pinned by the same E-GMP platform which forms the underpinning of vehicles like the KIA EV 6 as well as genesis GV 60. Hyundai had previously announced that the car would have a 73 kWh battery pack and be offered with two different powertrains. The first of these will consist of a single electric motor with 215 hp while the second model will have a dual-motor system with a combined 308 hp.  According to media reports Hyundai is targeting a range exceeding 300 Miles (482 KM’s)
