American SUV maker Jeep is preparing to enter the 7-seater premium SUV segment with the launch of the new Jeep Meridian, which is expected to arrive by May 2022.

Based on the Small-Wide 4×4 platform of FCA, which also underpins the Compass and the Renegade, the Jeep Meridian is basically a 3-row version of the Jeep Compass.
The Toyota Fortuner, on the other hand, is built on the ladder-on-frame chassis, which also underpins the Toyota Innova Crysta.
The Jeep Meridian will boast all the features that are generally available in its rivals in the 7-seater segment. However, expect some additional features. Some key features include Bi-LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 7-slat grille, new 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, LED fog lamps, LED tail-lights, panoramic sunroof and more.
The new model comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display with U-Connect 5, a 10.2-inch digital instrument console, a 9-speaker high-definition surround sound system, automatic AC with vents for 2nd & 3rd row, front row ventilation, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay and power adjustable seats.
Talking about the Toyota Fortuner, it is the only SUV which comes without a panoramic sunroof and is the least equipped in its category.
It features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options, an 8-way power-operated driver seat, ambient lighting, 18-inch machined cut alloy wheels, suction-based seat ventilation system, automatic AC, Quad LED headlamps with waterfall LED Line guide signature, kick sensor for power back door and more.
