New Delhi: Kia is all set to unveil its Carens on December 16. But ahead of the unveil the car was spied during the test drive on roads. The Carens was spotted with steel wheels with covers and roof rails.

The Carens is expected to offer both 6- and 7-seater layouts and will have two engine options: a 2-liter petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel. The new SUV rivals are MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar.

The Kia Carens is likely to get 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, but the option may vary depending on the variant.

The new Kia Carnes is expected to go on sale in early 2022. The car will be available in the price range of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom) which will be quite affordable as compared to Hyundai Alcazar’s base-spec Prestige trim which is available in the price range of Rs 16.3 lakh to Rs 18.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new SUV will offer ventilated front seats, a digitized instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, and connected car tech.

The Kia’s Carens is expected to be the bigger version of the Kia Seltos. However, the Carens will likely have different designs on its front and rear profiles as compared to the Seltos.

Well, it is not revealed that the spotted car will be named as a Base-spec Carnes but it can be assumed through leaked images that it might be Kia’s, Base-spec Carnes.
