KIA is all set to bring to the nation shores its bastion of EV mobility the EV 6, the car has brought a lot of accolades for the brand and the brand is all set to make it the face of its EV portfolio in India. While the brand has been regularly touting its customers with trailer releases a report from Auto Car India reveals that the car would be lunched on the 2nd of June.
The Car is based on the E-GMP platform which forms the under possessing of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 as well. Globally the car is available in two variants one with a 58kWh battery pack and the other with a larger 77.4kWh unit, both of which are offered in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) layouts.
Media reports from Autocar India that the India-spec model is likely to come only with the 77.4kWh battery pack and KIA is expected to offer the EV6 in rear-wheel-drive, single-motor, and all-wheel-drive, dual-motor layouts. With this bigger battery pack, the rear-wheel-drive model produces 229hp and 350Nm, while the all-wheel-drive variant makes 325hp and 605Nm.
Globally EV6 is available with two charging options – a 50kW charger that requires a claimed 73 minutes to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent, and a faster 350kW unit that can do 10 percent to 80 percent in a claimed 18 minutes.
Considering the KIA EV 6 would be an full on import vehicle the car wold have all the bells and whistles possible for a EV car , a recent brochure leak revealed all the details about the car’s interior as well The brochure breaks the news that the KIA EV 6 would be sold in two variants in India the GT line and the GT line AWD. The EV -6 would be complete CBU unit, hence would be priced high.The car has a big role to play , it would be the first VE vhicle launched by KIA in the Inidan market hence it has been given every creature comfort possible.in safety department The EV6 will come with 8 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, an Anti-lock braking system, Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Multi Collision Braking, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Management, Emergency Stop Signals, front and rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The car would also come with advance active driver aids such as Kia will be offering Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Collision Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Avoidance, Lane Follow Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Driver Attention Warning and Adaptive Cruise control with Stop and go functionality.
The India bound variant being the GT line variant , it would have sporty elements , 19-inch crystal cut alloy wheels , Flush Door Hand;es, LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators and light bar, rear spoiler electric sunroof ,LED foglamps, Solar Glass and 64 color ambient lighting. There is also a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, vegan leather-wrapped steering wheel, anti-glare rearview mirror, sporty alloy pedals, metal scuff plates, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, multiple drive modes, wireless charger, 10-way adjustable driver seat with memory function, rain-sensing wipers, smart key with push-button to start/stop etc.

At the time of launch the expected price of the vehicle would be somewhere about 55 to 60 lakhs, while the brand is also in pursuit of bringing in the Hyundai IONIQ 5 which wouldn’t be a CBU import unit but would be assembled here in India. The car would directly be in competition with the Volvo XC 40 recharge.
