KTM RC 390 VS Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Drag Race: Shocking Results

Drag races have  become common over at YouTube , every user tends to find the maximum out of their bikes and in that pursuit we get the best videos possible. Suraj Verma over at Youtube recently pitted his KTM RC 390 against Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. And the results were shocking .

Both the bikes although are very different where KTM RC 390 is a full fledged track machine and  the Continental GT 650 is more track focused tourer sister of the Royal Enfield Interceptor. Their race would be interesting to watch as both the bikes are very different.

The specifications of the KTM RC 390 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650

RC 390 is powered by a single cylinder, water cooled engine which produces 43.5 PS of power at 9000 RPM and a peak torque of about 36NM @7000 RPM .While the Royal Enfield Continental GT is powered by a parallel twin setup which is oil cooled and produces 47.65 [email protected] RPM with a peak torque of 52 NM @ 5250 rpm.

The Race

While in the race the KTM jumped of the line better than the Continental GT 650 and attained a lead beyond the Royal Enfield. But the Continental chased down the RC 390 slowly and by the end passed it being the winner in the first run. In the second run Continental GT 650 passed the RC 390 much more earlier in the race, wining the final round.

Such variable endings could mean a skill difference amongst the drivers, as both the races showcased a different attribute of the bikes. Although both the bikers were wearing safety gears we do not promote such races specially on public roads. In case of accidents while continuing to race like that and having presence over at youtube insurers might turn hesitant to pay for damage.
