Recently, Royal Enfield introduced the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 in a black version to the world market. Compared to the bikes now on sale in the Indian market, it receives a variety of changes. Now that the stores have begun receiving the motorcycles, it is anticipated that the revised Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 would be introduced to the Indian market today.
The Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 will both get new colour schemes for 2023 that draw inspiration from the ’70s. It is still unknown whether the new feature sets will be available on all variants or only the newest top-end model. The price of the motorcycles will rise after the upgrade since they will also meet BS6 Stage II standards, making them OBD2-ready.
The motorcycles will be equipped with a Super Meteor 650 LED headlight. The switch gear has also been modernised with rotary type switches and an aluminium finish. Moreover, a USB connector is available for charging portable electronics.
In addition, there are two new colour schemes for both motorcycles, which represent aesthetic modifications. Now both the exhaust and the engine are blacked out. Royal Enfield is now selling blacked-out accessories to go with the new design. For instance, the engine guard and bash plate have been newly blackened out.
The alloy wheels on the 2023 Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 will be the largest improvement. The design is the same as what was seen last year. Since the 650 Twins’ release, owners have been asking for alloy wheels since it is difficult to patch a flat on a motorbike that weighs more than 200 kg. The motorcycles will now have tubeless tyres since alloy wheels have been added. The 2023 Interceptor 650 uses Ceat Zoom Cruz tyres in the international market, whereas the Continental GT 650 uses Vredestein tyres. Whether or not Vredestein tyres will enter the Indian market is unknown at this time.
