Mahindra Scorpio Production Spec SUV Spotted; To Rival Tata Harrier, MG Hector

Mahindra has been keeping media as well as people on their toes while startling us all regularly with their teasers,  while Mahindra is keeping its secrets to itself , spy shots and test mule sightings have surfaced over the internet. Another production ready vehicle in white was spotted earlier. Here the details we have been able to gather from the new sighting

Cosmetic Changes

The images of the first production ready vehicle showcase  a new vertical slat grill upfront with new Mahindra logo while a previous version showcased XUV700 like logo this shows this one showcases the conventional logo ,is is it possible the upper spec models would get a new logo, C –shaped Led DRL’s with fog lamps and many more. The double barrel headlight design is flanked by chrome underlining, only low beam to get projectors high beam to get reflectors.

Bigger Dimensions

The new Scorpio seems slightly taller than the older one with new alloys, the Scorpio also gets a redesigned rear side ways hinged tailgate. The bumper seems flatter than and has dual reverse lights with a strip of chrome running common in- between them. This a test mule caught testing a few weeks back  130 bhp figure spotted on the spied test vehicle might only hold true for base models. While higher variants might get a beefier power figure of 153 bhp or even 183 bhp like we’ve seen on XUV700 powered by the same engine. There is no news regarding a petrol variant of the Scorpio as of yet.

New Scorpio to have ADAS features

New Scorpio can also get some or all the ADAS features from its cousin the XUV 700, including lane keep assist . active cruise control and an emergency braking system, in safety department Mahindra is expected to equip the upcoming Scorpio with 6 to 7 airbags , ABS EBD and hill hold assist and  etc.

The Scorpio is still based on a ladder frame chassis and with bigger dynamics the car , lets see how Mahindra would contain its body roll. 2022 Scorpio will compete with the likes of other D-segment SUVs currently on sale in India like Alcazar, Harrier, Safari, Hector, Hector Plus and Mahindra’s own XUV700. But the main differentiating factor that works in favor of Scorpio is that it will be the only SUV that offers the ruggedness of a ladder-frame chassis and the convenience of a 4X4 system together in one package.

Price of the car would be revealed soon. The car Is all set to compete in the D-segment as stated in the teaser by Mahindra, lets see if the car would be able to create the same impact as that of the older generations.
