Recently a story brought the whole EV market to an standstill when a man from Tamil Nadu set his Ola S1 pro on fire . The man Prithvi Raj came forth again to explain why he did so and the reasons that contributed to such a fatal action. MR Prithvi Raj made a video in his vernacular language that has been translated over by a tweet.
According to the Tweet the owner of the scooter Prithvi Raj set his Ola S1 pro on fire because of technical and performance issues with the New scooter. Prithvi bought the scooter in January, and Ola delayed the registration process. In April, Ola confirmed that the registration will happen in Gudiatham town, which would take a round trip of more than 100 km from his home in Ambur.
When the owner reached the office he had to face a straight no form the registration office due to jurisdiction confines, while returning feelings of being jilted and being cheated clamored In his mind , along the way the scooter stopped ( the reason isn’t clear) and the owner was left stranded. On reaching Ola official outlet for help he got a even more disturbing response. Ola officials promised to help stating a ETA of about 7- 8 hours. Frustrated and jilted as a customer shouldn’t be after spending such a premium, Prithvi called his friends for Help and asked them to bring petrol with them.

In a fit of anger and frustration Prithvi set his Ola s1 pro on fire.
Prithvi in his video clarified he has no regrets about what he did , his aim was to bring people to the awareness of a faltering Product and faltering services provided by Ola. A similar story Sachin Gitte owner of Ola s1 pro surfaced a few days back where a donkey was used to pull along the scooter to denote shame. He also faced a terrible service in the matter of maintenance.

Ola has recently officially announced to recall the product after one of their scooters caught fire in Pune. All the scooters in the same production batch were recalled, Ola regarded the recall as a preemptive measure to resist such incidents in the future.
