Maruti Suzuki India on Friday launched the CNG version of its Grand Vitara in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG draws its juice from the next generation K-series 1.5-litre dual jet, dual VVT engine. The vehicle, which has become the first SUV to get a CNG option, will be available in two models – Delta and Zeta. The Delta model is priced at Rs 12.85 lakh while the Zeta costs Rs 14.84 lakh (both ex-showroom)
Speaking on the occasion, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Since its launch in September 2022, the Grand Vitara has received a resounding response from Indian consumers, thanks to its SUV appeal, complimented by multiple future-ready powertrains. The introduction of the S-CNG option further expands the appeal of the Grand Vitara. The Grand Vitara S-CNG will contribute to our aggressive plan to widen our green-powertrain offerings, expanding to 14 models.”

The all-new SUV features the signature SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system. It has wireless connectivity support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and also gets the Suzuki Connect telematics feature.

The petrol one churns out a maximum power of 103 bhp and a peak torque of 136 Nm, while in CNG mode, the figures are 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm. The engine is connected to a five-speed manual transmission unit.

The CNG version of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara gives a claimed mileage of 26.6km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG comes with a starting price of Rs 12.85 lakh and is available for purchase at company’s Nexa dealerships across the country.
