Maruti Suzuki is developing a few facelifts for their on sale models , while at the same time developing completely new offerings like the Mid Size SUV that is about to be unveiled by Diwali. Recently the car was spotted testing again under a heavy disguise. The car is supposed to take on cars like the Hyundai Creta as well as the KIA Seltos.
Spy Shots Surfaced Over The Internet
The surfaced spy shots showcase how far the car has reached in its development, this is probably fourth time the car has been spotted testing over the Indian Roads. Previously Toyota’s mule as well as the Suzuki’s mule were spotted together testing. The new test mule is similar to the last one and continues to get heavy camouflage. The Maruti Suzuki YFG will offer a split headlamp set-up as well but the layout will be different. The new images also reveal the alloy wheel design of the YFG. The alloy wheels look very similar to the Suzuki Vitara.
Toyota’s Mid Size Suv
Toyots’a new vehicle that is being developed in tandem with the Suzuki’s vehicle, the Toyota’s vehicle would have the DNGA platform, which is Toyota’s low cost new Daihatsu New Generation Architecture (DNGA) the platform has been derived from the TNGA platform which becomes the underpinnings of cars like the Camry. There have been several such veneration’s of cheaper underpinnings derived from the superior ones that power expensive cars in the automotive industry like the Volkswagen MQB A0-IN derived from the much more engineered and expensive MQB A0.
Engines To be Used
Coming to the engines, there is no confirmation on the same. However, the vehicles are likely to get a strong hybrid system developed by Toyota, The power unit will be a 1.5-litre petrol engine. As always, Maruti Suzuki will aim for a high-fuel efficiency, which can sway a lot of buyers from cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun and more because of the skyrocketing fuel prices.
Both the cars will arrive one after the other around the festive season. This will be the first Toyota and Maruti Suzuki product that will be made at Toyota’s plant in Karnataka.
Since both of the cars are being developed differently using different underpinnings as well as different drivetrains its possible that both the cars would look miles apart from each other Unlike the previous Vitara Brezza and Urban Cruiser mix up. This would be the first product that both the brands have developed together the first of many to arrive in due time.
