Maruti Suzuki Swift has been a cult favorite of the Indian public because of its fun 1.2 liter engine which provides a peppy performance , while the Inidan consumer was satiated by the meek power figures and the peppy performance of the existing Maruti Suzuki Swift it seems the brand is all set to launch the performance version of the hatchback as it was recently seen being tested by the ARAI . The car would be straight rival to the Hyundai i20 n line.

The spy shots reveal the car being driven around under a meek camouflage, the car has its credentials pasted right under the swift emblem. The appearance of the car is differentiated from the normal swift by the existence of dual exhaust tips at the end and a roof mounted spoiler. The overall design of the car is similar to the normal swift which would be a merit as part sharing would help the manufacturer in pricing the car competitively.
Specifications Of The International Variant
The internationally available Swift sport comes with a 1.4 litre direct injection turbocharged engine which produces 140ps and a peak torque figure of about 230nm. The engine comes mated to a 6 speed manual as well as a 6 speed automatic transmission. The car has stiffer suspension and other tweaks to the suspension geometry which would make its ride a bit more firmer on the road. No Official Word From Maruti Suzuki Yet
Maruti itself hasn’t revealed any details as of yet , the car might be similar to the global counterpart but we have no confirmation as of yet whether it would be or not. The car would directly be in competition with the i20 n-line which also comes with an DCT transmission, would Suzuki bring in a DCT as well or use its unavailability as a attribute to undercut the price of the n line , only time would tell.
