There are two seven-seater cars that Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) looks to be developing for the Indian market. According to recent reports, the country’s largest automaker would begin selling the Grand Vitara with three rows by the middle of this decade. It might be known as the Grand Vitara XL, and whenever it is released, it will replace the current flagship ICE SUV.

The Global C platform will continue to support the three-row Grand Vitara, which may be built in six- and seven-seater variations. Also, the 1.5L four-cylinder mild-hybrid and the 1.5L three-cylinder Atkinson Cycle TNGA petrol engines from Toyota are anticipated to share the engine options with the Grand Vitara.
To set itself apart from the standard Vitara, the future SUV will have cosmetic changes. With a claimed mileage of over 25 km/l, the powerful hybrid petrol engine should give it an obvious advantage over its rivals. It will compete against the Mahindra XUV700, the Hyundai Alcazar, the MG Hector Plus, and the Tata Safari while a large number of brand-new seven-seater midsize SUVs are in the works.
The list of features will include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera system, automatic climate management, etc. The Indo-Japanese manufacturer will probably introduce the Toyota Innova Hycross cross-badged model before the larger Grand Vitara arrives.
- Maruti Suzuki C-MPV
The premium MPV will probably be the first Toyota vehicle that Maruti Suzuki receives with a Toyota logo. If true, it might also be the first Maruti Suzuki model to be equipped with ADAS-based driver-assistive and safety features. It will be a front-wheel drive MPV and be supported by the same modular TNGA-C platform.
The performance will come from the 2.0L four-cylinder normally aspirated petrol and the 2.0L Atkinson Cycle TNGA powerful hybrid petrol engine with a claimed fuel efficiency of slightly over 21 kmpl, and it is anticipated to be offered in seven- and eight-seater layouts, similar to the Innova Hycross.
