The Nexon EV MAX is due to be launched tomorrow , and it seems Tata has developed a car that would increase the competition in the EV market to anew level. A Few new details about the car have surfaced before the big reveal tomorrow. Here they are, According to reports the Nexon EV Max will come with 143hp and 250Nm, which is 14hp and 5Nm more than the standard Nexon EV SUV.
New Battery Pack
The Nexon EV Max will come with a larger battery –apparently it will be a 40.5kWh unit – which is 10kWh more than the standard Nexon EV. There will, however, be no change in the boot capacity the bigger battery has been paced in such a way that the boot space remains intact as before the Nexon EV Max is likely to have the same 350-litres boot as the standard Nexon EV.

New Charging Options
The Current Nexon EV has a 3.3kWh portable charger. However, the Nexon EV Max is expected to have two charging options – a 3.3kWh charging set-up, which will be provided as standard with the car, and a more powerful 7.2kWh option for an extra cost Rs 60,000-70,000.According to reports by AUTOCAR magazine the Nexon EV Max will take around 15-16 hours for a full charge on the 3.3kWh unit, while the 7.2kWh version will significantly reduce the charging time to as low as five to six hours.
Increased Range
The reports also talks about how Tata has certified a range of about 437 KM’s which is 100 more than the conventional Nexon EV. The conventional Nexon EV comes with an 312 km Range, in real life tests the car ran out of juice after 208km’s the max should offer at least a 300KM range as claimed by the company in its recent teasers.
Only To Be Available In Two Variants
The EV max would only be in offer with two variants XZ+ and XZ+lux variants . The new variant comes with a host of new features that aren’t available in the old Nexon EV These include an illuminated gear knob with a park mode, electric parking brake, an air purifier, wireless charging, hill hold assist, ESP and cooled seats among others. There will be few differences in the paint shades offered as well, with some options kept unique for the Nexon EV Max.
The deliveries would start from late may early june , the expected price of the car would be around 20Lakhs , a price at which it would give a close competition to the MG ZS EV.
