Ola, the Indian multinational ride-sharing company offering services that include vehicles for hire and food delivery is coming up with its all-new electric scooter. With the increasing petrol price all over India, all we need is a replacement or anything that can save our money and is more sustainable.
The Ola Electric Scooter will be launched on August 15, the company has declared that a Rs 2,400 crore investment will be done for setting up a factory in Tamil Nadu for manufacturing this e-scooter. After the completion, it would be the biggest two-wheeler facility in the world.
Bhavish Aggarwal, co-founder of Ola cab has said that all the features of the upcoming scooter will be revealed on launch day. Along with this he also thanked everyone who has reserved the scooter. The booking for the e-scooter started on July 15. The scooter has received 1 lakh bookings within the first 24 hours, making it the most pre-booked scooter in the world.
The Ola e-scooter will be available in ten color options, right from pink to bright colors like yellow-red, and white. In addition, there will be a gloss and matte finish choice in blue and black.
Ola had announced that the scooter would be industry-leading in terms of speed, range, boot space also in technology. It is also believed that the Ola scooter can reach the speed of 100kph.
The Ola company further revealed that it strives to build the largest and densest two-wheeler charging network in more than 400 cities in India. Besides that, the company is also going to install 100,000 charging points. These charging points will provide a charge of up to 50% in just 18 minutes with 75 km of range. The company had also said the model would be aggressively priced to make it widely available.
