Recently Ola released a rendering of a electric car that took the market in a frenzy . A few days ago Ola revealed that they have been developing the car for some time now and would bring it to the market by the end of 2023 or early 2024. The special mention here being that, the car would arrive in the market with autonomous driving technology.
Ola EV Car Pricing
Ola is aiming to price the vehicle at about 10 lakhs to gather attention and drive demands towards their vehicle, if launched at this price the vehicle would become the cheapest EV vehicle in the market. The electric scooter maker also presented an electric cart as a demo vehicle. It featured autonomous technology that we will also get on the upcoming four-wheeler. Its top speed was 20 kmph and it was equipped with two LiDAR or Light Detection and Ranging cameras. There was also a video camera and a GPS. The cart would automatically stop when it detected a person in front of it and explored an alternative route autonomously.
Ola Scooter
Ola currently has one scooter in their portfolio, it’s called S1 Pro. They were supposed to launch the s1 but it has been postponed amid the criticisms Ola has been under for their under performing S1-pro.The S1 was priced at about 99,000 while the S1 pro costs a 1,29 ,000 ex show room.
The S1 misses out on features like Hyper mode, Hill Hold Control, Cruise Control and voice assistant. Other changes include a lower battery output of 2.98 kWh as compared to 3.97 kWh. Because of this, the riding range is also lower at 121 km whereas the S1 Pro gets 181 km. The top speed is limited to 90 kmph, it can hit 60 kmph in 7 seconds and 0-40 kmph takes 3.6 seconds. When compared the S1 Pro can hit 60 kmph in 5 seconds, 0-40 kmph in just 3 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 115 kmph. Also, the S1 Pro gets more color options.

Customers facing issues with Ola Scooter
There have been a number of stories where customers have been facing issues with the Ola s1 pro in certain story where the scooter lost its front end completely while riding. As well as in a story due to software glitch the scooter got stuck in revere mode while being in drive causing a great inconvenience.

A scooter caught fire in Pune, Ola has reacted on the stories and recalled about 1441 units of the S1 pro that were manufactures alongside the same batch and caught fire. Ola also has been running diagnostics on the scooter to find out what could be the reason for such a fire
