While Ola has been engulfed in the burning flames of criticism due to the faltering quality of its Electric scooters all over India, even after announcing a recall the brand seem to be on the cusp of announcing its next purchase window for the same scooter. While a lot of criticism has been flung towards the brand even after which the it doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
The next purchase window for the brand is supposed to open this weekend on May 21 and it would be indicative of the damage the brand might suffer sales wise if any. As before, prospective buyers who have made a reservation earlier will get the chance to order it as soon as the purchase window opens, although Ola hasn’t indicated how long it will remain open this time around. While several cases of the machine suffering from unintentional glitches have surfaced from all over India where in recently a Ola S1 pro reversed without any intention of the rider to do so and caused a devastating injury to the rider.
While last time the sales purchase windows were opened in march from 17 to 18 this year , and after their closing it was announced that the price in the next bout of sales would be increased , So, expect the S1 and S1 Pro to be more expensive when the window opens this weekend. Current prices for the S1 and S1 Pro stand at Rs 85,099 and Rs 1,10,149, respectively (ex-showroom Delhi, after FAME-II and state subsidies).
While the brand has been trying is best to prevent such issues in the future and also for providing help to the people who have suffered injuries due to their scooters , a fear ,a certain resistive strike has been entwined in minds of the people regarding EV scooters due to the recent cases of EV fires. Ola’s OTA update that was due by the end of April is also in initiation and beta roll out phase. The update promises navigation as well a cruise controls , it would be vital to note whether the brand would be able to rectify the issue its users have been facing with these updates or not.
