OLX Fraud Case: Police arrests accused, recovers stolen Wagon R

A man who was wanted in the OLX fraud and theft case has been arrested by the cyber cell of the Kavinagar Police station on March 01, 2021.

According to the police, the accused was planning to sell the stolen Wagon R once again when they arrested him. However, some of his accomplices are still at large, and searches are being carried out to nab them.

Besides arresting the accused, the police have also recovered the stolen car and identified some others involved in this case.

This comes almost a month after a complaint of car theft was registered by a media professional Aman Dwivedi at Kavinagar Police Station in Ghaziabad.

Abhay Kumar Mishra, Circle Officer of the Cyber Cell, told The Vocal News that the arrested accused, Prashant Tyagi, is a resident of Dehri Gurjar Village under Amaddha Police Station in Amroha.

Besides the main accused, one of his accomplices, in this case, has also been arrested. The stolen car, Wagon R, went missing soon after it was purchased by the media professional Aman Dwivedi from a Fake car owner.

Aman was contacted by the fake car through OLX, an online platform to sell and buy pre-used cars, mobiles, and other goods.

After his car went missing from a workshop in Shastri Nagar, Aman contacted Kavinagar Police station and registered a complaint against the accused.
