French carmaker Renault is working on several new SUVs including the third generation Duster SUV and a 7-seater SUV based on the Bigster concept.
Both the new Duster as well as the Bigster will be based on CMF-B platform by Renault-Nissan. The same platform also underpins the new Sandero and other Renault cars.
Third-gen Renault Duster
Recently, the French carmaker had discontinued the Duster from the Indian market.
According to Motor1, the all-new Renault Duster will be launched in India. However, the launch timeline has not been finalised yet but expect it to arrive by 2023-24.
The third generation Renault Duster may come with plug-in hybrid powertrain. In select markets, Renault may also introduce an all-electric version of Duster.
However, for India, the Duster may get a turbocharged petrol engine with a mild hybrid system as well as a plug-in hybrid model could also be on offer.
New Renault Bigster 7-Seater SUV
Dacia, a Renault Group brand, is working on the 7-seater SUV based on the Bigster concept for select global markets.
The new Dacia Bigster SUV is expected to be launched by 2023-24, while the production model will be revealed in 2022-23.
The new Bigster based SUV will be positioned above the regular Duster SUV and will be 4.60 meters long. The 7-seater SUV coule be named the Grand Duster.
For the European markets, hybrid engines will be on offer with the SUV, which may get a conventional hybrid system & a plug-in hybrid (with all-wheel drive system).
