In terms of 2022, Renault India has not had a wonderful year. Their yearly sales decreased by about 9% to little over 87k units. The Duster SUV, one of Renault’s most recognisable vehicles ever sold in India, was also discontinued in 2022. Though that was in 2022. The year is 2023, and it appears that Renault India is about to enjoy a successful year.

Spied: Renault Kiger Electric SUV
Yes. EV Kiger. The majority of us anticipated Renault will introduce the Kwid EV because other nations have already introduced such vehicles. But now that Kiger electric spy photos have started to circulate online, it appears to be more or less clear which model would be Renault’s first electric vehicle in India.
The Talking Cars channel takes credit for the Kiger EV spy photos. Kiger Electric has the exact same design as its ICE counterpart and is visible in a shade of blue comparable to the one already available with Kiger petrol. The front logo is underneath a charging plug.
Interiors of the Renault Kiger Electric have also been spotted. With the exception of the missing gear lever, the layout is comparable to the Kiger petrol. Instead, the driving mode selection on the Kiger EV is done using buttons and a turning knob. There is also a hand brake lever visible. The seat cloth, steering wheel, and door panels are all comparable to the gasoline Kiger.

Specifications and Price Range to Expect
Similar batteries and electric motors like those available with the Kwid EV in China may be added to the Renault Kiger EV. It has a 26.8 kWh battery pack, which powers a 44 horsepower and 125 Nm torque motor. Range claims could be as high as 300 km. Given that Kiger is a little bigger than Kwid EV, it might be able to hold a bigger battery pack. Interiors of the Renault Kiger Electric have also been spotted. At the moment, Renault is selling the Kwid, Kiger, and Triber. petrol engine option powers everything. Given that these three vehicles are constructed on the same platform, it is conceivable that Renault will introduce the Kwid or Triber EV in the future. Magnite, Kiger’s cousin, is also expected to profit, and we might see a Nissan Magnite electric vehicle debut later this year.
2023 appears to be the year Renault India can look forward to with the introduction of their first electric vehicle. The planned Tata Punch EV and Citroen eC3 will compete with the Renault Kiger EV, among others. Renault may set the Kiger EV’s price between Rs 15 and Rs 30 lakh.
