The new generation 2023 Brezza has been launched in Japan. The SUV has been re-launched after a short while of not being available in the market. However this time around the SUV gets a new treatment of all new innovative features and an hybrid power train which might just help it become the most fuel efficient SUV in the market. The car is also sold in EUROPE by the name VITARA and the Indian Vitara Brezza is also a extension of the same variant.
The changes over the years
The existing fourth generation Vitara ( 3rd gen ESCUDO) has been around since 2014, it was previously updated in the year 2018 with mild cosmetic changes to the appearance and new turbocharged powertrains. The 2020 update saw a mild 48v hybrid system while the recent update has been fitted with a 410V full hybrid tech which is available as an option. The car being sold in the Europe still has a mild hybrid technology.
The Specifications on the new 2023 Vitara Hybrid Technology
The latest HYBRID technology uses a naturally aspirated 1.5 litre Dual jet four cylinder powertrain, which churns about 99HP of power with 132 NM torque, the engine works in tandem with an electric motor which produces about 33hp and 60nm of torque.

Transmissions available
The power is forced to the wheels through a 6 speed ASG automatic gearbox with gearshift paddles, in combination with Suzuki All grip AWD system. The new Vitara variant features a new 6AH battery which is larger than the one with mild HYBRID technologies. This has been mounted under the cargo space of the car unlike in the previous variants where it was mounted under the front seat.
The jaoanese spec Vitara / Escudo car can also be driven on Electric power alone in certain scenarios like while reversing and while decelerating. The company claims a 46-(MPG) figure for its new vehicle. Although there hasn’t been any word if it would ever make it to INDIA but similar changes might make it to Indian fleet of Suzuki’s on sale.
