Re.Wi.Re, which stands for “Recycle with Respect,” was introduced by Tata Motors on Tuesday in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This cutting-edge facility, which was opened by the Honorable Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has a 15,000 vehicle capacity per year. It uses top-notch, environmentally friendly procedures to safely and sustainably disassemble old cars. It is built and run by Tata Motors’ partner, Ganganagar Vaahan Udgog Pvt. Ltd., to trash end-of-life passenger and commercial cars of all brands, the company claimed.
The purpose of the National Vehicle Scrappage Policy, according to Gadkari, is to “create a circular economy by building an environment for phasing out unsuitable and polluting automobiles and to achieve a smaller carbon footprint in the country by replacing them with greener and more fuel-efficient vehicles.”
“I commend Tata Motors for establishing this high-quality plant that meets international standards. More of these cutting-edge scrapping and recycling facilities are required in India as we try to establish it as a regional hub for car recycling in South Asia “Added he.
“At Tata Motors, we are committed to exploring every facet of mobility to make it greener and more sustainable,” stated Girish Wagh, Executive Director of Tata Motors. The opening of this RVSF heralds a fresh beginning in responsible scrapping of end-of-life vehicles. We want to maximise the value of the scrap for future use and limit waste for the benefit of everyone by using recycling technologies that are globally benchmarked and optimised.
We are grateful for Nitin Gadkari’s imaginative work in enabling the National Vehicle Scrappage Policy and look forward to working with our partners to establish Re.Wi.Re facilities across the nation.
These decentralised facilities will help the customers, distribute the economic value created, create jobs, and solve the demand to scrap cars in every region of the nation in an environmentally beneficial way, he continued.
The facility is fully digitalized for hassle-free, paperless operations, and it has designated stations for the safe dismantling of parts like tyres, batteries, fuel, oils, liquids, and gases. The vehicles go through a rigorous documentation and dismantling process, commercial vehicle requirement and curated individually for passenger.
