Tata Nexon EV Faces Charging Problems In Ladakh, Owner Warns All EV Buyers (Video)

Published Date:

While EV’s owners in the city are fear struck with range anxiety, few brave hearted EV owners like the YouTuber Anjnay has the courage to test their vehicle to the limit. Anjnay recently took his Nexon EV to  Ladakh and faced such a unique challenge that would be worth knowing for every Tata Nexon EV owner.

Due to the scarce availability of EV chargers along the hills of ladakh Anjnay was carrying a diesel electric generator to charge his vehicle. The YouTuber used regen mode of the vehicle efficiently while going downhill to keep on updating his battery charge. Around Whiksey Nala about 40kms’s from Sarchu Anjnay tried to charge his car as its battery was running low, but due to a unique problem his car refused to take charge.

Problems Due To Magnetic fields

As according to Anjnay the region has strong magnetic fields which mean that the car couldn’t get proper earthing to charge. The vehicle kept on engaging  and disengaging itself  on charge. The owner talked about how he couldn’t get proper earthing in the region and was carrying a soil filled pot to provide the car with proper earthing, however he forgot the pot somewhere and had to face this issue.

Later on he did charge his vehicle through the Diesel Generator he was carrying by digging a small crater in to the available soil and spilling water on to it to make it damp and use it for earthing.

Reasons Behind The Challenge

According to the YouTuber These challenge persists in the region due to persisting stony soil as well as magnetic fields all around, if you plan to take your Ev’s to the hills, carry a diesel generator as Anjnay did, also carry a soil filled pot so that you do not face the earthling issues he faced.

This is a brilliant video as it would help other EV owners to gain a new understanding of the challenges they might face if they plan to take their vehicle up hills. Later on his vehicle gained enough charge to reach its destination.

The driver also talked about how he has changed his driving style to complement the range of his vehicle while there is a scarce availability of charging points in the hills. He talked about how having a light foot on the accelerator helped him in the hills. To follow him on his voyage you can follow Anjnay on his channel Anjnay vlogs .
