Tata Motors has rolled out its 2021 Tata Safari in India. The starting price of the new SUV flagship is Rs. 14.69 lakh. Besides the new Safari, the automobile manufacturer also introduced a special variant ‘Adventure Persona’ in the market.
Those interested can place their order for the new Safari as the company has already started booking for the new Safari. With a token amount of Rs. 30, 000, the new Safari can be booked at authorized dealerships across the country.
As many as nine variants of the new Tata Safari are available across four trims, XE, XM, XT, and XZ. Both, six and seven-seat configurations of the vehicle are available in the market.
While the seven-seat configuration is available in all variants of the vehicle, the captain seat in the middle row ( 6-seater) limits itself only to XZ+ and XZA+ variants.
The new SUV sits on the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture (OMEGARC) platform derived from Land Rover D8. On the exterior, the vehicle gets a chrome-studded front grille, HID projector headlamps, LED DRLs, turn indicators, fog lamps, an LED taillight, 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and a panoramic sunroof.
Besides improved exterior and interior, the new Safari gets new dimensions. It is 4, 661 mm long, 1, 894 mm wide and 1, 786 mm tall. The wheelbase of the vehicle remains the same as the wheelbase of the Harrier.
Three colour options of the new Safari, including Daytona Grey, Royale Blue, Orcus White, and Tropical Mist, are available in the market.
Inside, the new Safari gets a dual-tone Oyster White paint scheme, besides an 8.8-inch infotainment unit with Tata’s IRA connected car technology.
The infotainment system in the new SUV supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and voice recognition functions.
Apart from these, the new Safari also offers some other features, including Benecke Kaliko Oyster White leather seat upholstery, seven-inch instrument panel, nine-speaker JBL sound system, electric parking brake, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, push-button start, Rain Sensing Wipers, Electrically Adjustable and Foldable Outer Mirrors, 6-way Powered Adjustable Driver Seat, Steering Wheel, Boss mode, second-row seats, and Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC).
To ensure the safety and security of the occupants, the new Safari has six airbags, an antilock braking system (ABS), all-disc brakes, tyre pressure monitor system (TPMS), reverse parking camera, hill descent control, auto-dimming IRVMs, child seat ISOFIX, rear parking sensors, traction control, and hill hold control.
Powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine, the new Tata Safari can produce 168 bhp at 3,750 rpm with 350 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic manual gearbox.
