Tata Tigor EV launched: Features, price and all you need to know

Published Date:

The Tata Tigor EV’s range is increased to 315 km in 2022, and it also gains new features and technologies including smartwatch connection and multi-mode regeneration.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, automated headlights, and cruise control are just a few of the extra conveniences that the domestic maker has included. Also included is a brand-new exterior body colour called Magnetic Red. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., spoke about the new launch.

Tata Tigor’s EV motor

It’s time to improve the Tigor EV with more modern and upscale features, in keeping with our New Forever philosophy. We have gained significant insights into consumer driving behaviour from the 600 million kilometres we have travelled on Indian roads. These insights have helped us comprehend and provide better efficiency and range. We are pleased to introduce the new Tigor EV, which has an increased range of 315 km (approved by ARAI).

Features of the Tata Tigor EV

iTPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and Tyre Puncture Repair Kit are included as standard across the range in the updated electric compact sedan’s smart enhancements, which also include multi-mode regen, connected car technology (Zconnect), smartwatch connectivity, and connected car features like Zconnect. In addition, Tata reported that in just one month after its premiere, the recently introduced Tiago EV had received more than 20,000 reservations.

Tata presently holds the top spot in the passenger EV market with over 50,000 unit sales and a YTD market share of 89%. Similar to the Nexon EV Prime, Tata has offered existing Tigor EV owners a free feature update pack through software update. This update will be made available starting on December 20, 2022, at all of Tata’s authorised dealerships.

They can be updated to include features like iTPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), multi-mode regen, and tyre puncture repair kits. Customers of the previous XZ+ and XZ+ DT models can also improve their smartwatch connectivity. A 26 kWh liquid-cooled, high energy density, IP67-rated Li-ion battery pack is included with the new Tigor EV. It can generate up to 55 kW of power and 170 Nm of peak torque.

Types of the Tata Tigor EV

In addition to new features and technologies, Tata Motors today announced the introduction of the upgraded Tigor EV in the domestic market with a 315 km (ARAI approved) extended range. The base XE variant of the 2022 Tata Tigor EV costs Rs. 12,49 lakh; the XT variant costs Rs. 12,99 lakh; the XZ+ and XZ+ LUX variants cost Rs. 13,49 lakh; and the XT variant costs Rs. 13,75 lakh.
