Two new utility vehicles will make their global debut in November 2022. The good news is that these cars will also arrive in India in 2023. And the two cars are – the new-generation Honda WR-V subcompact SUV and Toyota Innova HyCross three-row MPV.
While the Honda WR-V will be unveiled on November 2, Toyota will take the wraps off the Innova HyCross in Indonesia next month. Here’re what we know so far about the upcoming new UVs.
New-gen Honda WR-V
Last year, the GIIAS edition witnessed the preview of the 2023 Honda WR-V as Honda RS Concept. The SUV will be offered with petrol, petrol-hybrid and diesel engine options for the global market. The India-spec version is expected to have 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine capable of churning out 121PS and 145Nm.
The car will come with both manual and automatic (CVT) gearboxes. The list of features include a touchscreen infotainment system with connected car features, a semi digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting and leather upholstery. The Honda WR-V will retain most of its design cues from the concept. However, you can expect a few more changes.
Toyota Innova Hycross
The Innova HyCross will first make its debut in the Indonesian market, and then will head to India for an early 2023 launch. Based on the new monocoque platform, the MPV will replace the conventional ladder frame chassis. The RWD setup will replace the FWD system. It will be bigger in size as compared to the existing Innova Crysta.

Under the hood, it is expected to get a 2.0L petrol engine with strong hybrid technology and mated to an e-CVT automatic gearbox. The MPV could be Toyota India’s first vehicle to feature a factory-fitted sunroof. Features list includes ventilated seats, Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), wireless phone charging, a 360 degree camera and more.
