EV producing company from Netherlands Squad mobility has developed a small size electric car that can funnel into the traffic of the busy cities today like thin air. The car also brings with it other unique propositions which make it’s a practical city commuter. The car named the solar squad has the capability to be the bastion the flag bearer of affordable EV solutions for the masses.
Design of The Vehicle
The car aims to bridge the gap between cars and bikes, the design of the vehicle is pretty basic with large windows and an exposed roll cage which gives the vehicle a rugged feel. The car has Circular LED’S as well as daytime running lights. The car gets removable doors and a solar panel thatched onto the roof.

The solar panel on the roof is the USP of the car, and the panel is said to provide 20km’s worth of range every day. The EV battery is said to provide a 100 km range on a full charge a number which is a tremendous achievement for an EV of this size. However the car has removable batteries that would provide it a better usability and a practical approach to everyday runabout. The battery pack can be charged using household electricity supply as well.
Specifications
The vehicle doesn’t hoard any high tech features , it has a simple interior which makes the vehicle more practical for everyday use. The EV produces 5 hp power and has top speed of only about 45kmph , hence its strict intercity vehicle. The motor is paced in towards the rear of the vehicle.
The company claims that they would soon launch a 4 wheeler version which would be able to do a top speed of about 70kph.We in our nation also need such affordable EV for local runabouts, these would help reduce the traffic as well in cities , and an established battery swapping infrastructure would also help the car to go more miles than it can on single charge.
