Toyota is developing a sub-4 metre compact SUV based on the Baleno or Glanza to replace the Urban Cruiser. A sub-4 metre tiny coupe-SUV based on the Baleno will also be released by Maruti. Compared to the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Toyota Urban Cruiser, the sub-4 metre small SUVs from Toyota and Maruti will be far more cheap.
Toyota’s upcoming sub-4-meter compact SUV is most likely to be called the “Toyota Taisor.” The new sub-4 m small SUV would be significantly more affordable and be built on the Heartect platform from Maruti Suzuki, which is lightweight but more solid.
Both the crossover SUV and the Maruti Futuro-e Concept on display at the 2020 Auto Expo in India will draw inspiration from one another. The Toyota Taisor crossover SUV will probably resemble the internationally offered Toyota Corolla Cross and have a wide front grille for a powerful appearance.
The Taisor crossover SUV will seem like a coupe from the side, and it will have a sloping roofline like the Kiger. The Taisor crossover SUV will be built on the same HEARTECT platform as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza, and it will be roughly the same length and breadth as those vehicles.
However, the Taisor crossover SUV is anticipated to be taller and have more than 180 mm of ground clearance as opposed to 170 mm in the Baleno/Glanza. With a higher seating position than an SUV, the Taisor crossover SUV will provide a commanding outlook, increased road presence with better visibility, and simple entry and exit.
Specifications for the Taisor
The 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder direct injection Boosterjet turbo petrol engine from Maruti Suzuki that was previously offered with the last generation Baleno RS is expected to power the upcoming Taisor crossover SUV. 101 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque are produced by the 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder Boosterjet turbo petrol engine. We anticipate that the Taisor crossover SUV will be offered with both a fuel-efficient AMT automatic and a 5-speed manual transmission.
Interior and Features of Taisor
The interior of the Taisor crossover SUV will probably resemble that of the new Baleno or Glanza and be fully furnished with contemporary amenities like the Baleno. LED DRLs, a 9-inch touchscreen with the SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, linked car technology, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, up to 6 airbags, ESC, and more will be among the important features.
Price and Launch Dates for Taisor
The new Taisor compact SUV will compete with the luxury Toyota Glanza hatchback, which is priced between Rs 6.39 lakh and Rs 9.69 lakh, and the mild hybrid Toyota Hyryder midsize SUV, which is priced between Rs 10.48 and Rs 17.09 lakh.
The new Toyota Taisor will likely cost between Rs. 7.5 lakh and Rs. 12 lakh, giving it a more cost-effective option to the new Maruti Brezza and competing Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
The Toyota Taisor will probably be on display at the January 2023 Auto Expo before being on sale in India shortly after.
