A recent video reported over the Internet by the Youtuber Ride with Mayur showcases a truck load of electric scooters catching fire while in Transportation. The truck load of scooters caught fire while being transported to a dealership from a factory.

The video-(Truck load of Electric Scooters Catch Fire)
In the video there is a truck standing and the doors of the trailer open wide because the electric scooters that are on the upper berth have caught fire. They are burning violently and producing a lot of smoke out of the burning plastic. We can also see that the firefighters are on the spot and they are spraying water on the scooters to extinguish the fire which is a terrible mistake because water itself conducts electricity. Such facts truly showcase how unprepared the nation is towards electric vehicles beyond the jingoism of the automotive industry. Electric fires are never to be extinguished with water as doing so would only make the situations worse.
The incident was reported on 9th April in Nashik, Maharashtra. The truck was carrying a load of electric scooters of Jitendra EV. There were about 40 scooters out of which 20 odd caught fire. The reason behind the spontaneous fire is not yet known. Fortunately, no causalities have been reported till now.

Okinawa’s case was different a tragic scenario that resulted in a man and his daughter losing their life in the accident. The scooter caught fire while being charged at home. The fire happened because of a short circuit possibly in the internal wiring of the occupant’s house. A simple electric surge protector could have saved them. before buying Electric scooter of any sort it’s important to note the viability of it at your place, how will you charge the scooter as well as the internal wiring at your place , and only buy one once being insured of all of these parameters.
