Upcoming Car launches: The first half of 2022 will witness the launch of several new SUVs and cars. Here’s a quick look at the upcoming new cars expected to hit the market in early 2022.

New-gen Maruti Vitara Brezza

The second-generation Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is among the major car launches of 2022. The car will come with the new Heartect platform and will boast an improved design and more features.

The automaker is speculated to launch the new Maruti Vitara Brezza 2022 with the 1.5-liter K15B petrol engine combined with a more powerful 48V hybrid system.

The SUV could also have a CNG variant with a manual gearbox. It will also get a 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission.

New-gen Mahindra Scorpio

The next generation of the very popular Mahindra Scorpio is expected to arrive in early 2022. Compared to the current generation, the New-gen Mahindra Scorpio will be bigger, more spacious and will get a host of new features.

It will sit on a ladder-on-frame chassis and will boast more robust design elements. The 7-seater version of the new Mahindra Scorpio will come with the forward-facing seats in the third row.

Under the hood, the SUV will pack a 2.0L mHawk turbo diesel capable of producing 155bhp and 360Nm and a 2.0L turbo petrol motor which will churn out 150 hp and 300 Nm. For gearbox, both manual and automatic will be available along with RWD and AWD systems.

Citroen C3

The Citroen C3 small car will be launched in early 2022 and the French automaker has already confirmed the same.

The car is based on the heavily localized CMP modular platform designed especially for emerging markets like India.

With a length of 3.89 meters, the hatchback will be available in four colour options – Platinum Grey, Zesty Orange, Ice White and Artense Grey. It will come with three engine options – 1.2L naturally aspirated, 1.2 turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel.

Kia Compact MPV

Codenamed Kia KY, the South Korean automaker’s upcoming compact SUV, is expected to hit the market in early 2022. It will borrow its platform from the Seltos and will come in a 7-seater configuration.

While most of its design cues are similar to the Seltos, it will get an extended front and rear overhangs and a more distinctive rear quarter glass area.

Interestingly, it could be the first vehicle in its segment to offer access to the third row of seats via an electric button. The new Kia MPV ‘s engine configuration will be borrowed from the Seltos -1.5L turbo diesel and 2.0L petrol.

Hyundai Compact MPV

There are reports that the South Korean automaker may launch the Hyundai Stargazer compact MPV in early 2022. The MPV will first hit the Indonesian market, before arriving in India and other countries.

The new Hyundai MPV will come with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Hyundai SmartSense feature and an electric sunroof. Compared to Creta, the MPV is about 4.5 meters long.

Hyundai Stargazer 2022

In India, the Stargazer could pack a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine and 6-speed manual and CVT automatic gearboxes in India. The engine is capable of churning out 113 bhp and 250 Nm.

Jeep Meridian

7-seater Jeep Meridian SUV from the American SUV maker will arrive in India early next year. The SUV’s test mule was recently caught testing in India.

The style and design of the new 3-row Jeep SUV is heavily inspired by the Compass. However, as compared to its 5-seater sibling, it is 346mm longer, 41mm wider, and 42mm taller.

Jeep Meridian 2022

It will come in 6 and 7 seater layouts. In terms of engine, the Jeep Meridian will come with the 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine capable of making 173bhp and 350Nm, while the gearbox options will be both manual and automatic.
