New Delhi: Volkswagen launches its new mid-size SUV, Taigun in the Indian market. The company offers the all-new SUV with two petrol engines and two variant groups. The price starts at Rs. 10.49 lakhs ex-showroom.
As per facts, more than 12,000 pre-bookings of Taigun have been received by Volkswagen. The amount you need to pay during booking is Rs. 25,000. The production spec was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020.
There is a GT Manual and GT Plus DSG. The GT is priced at Rs. 14.99 lakhs ex-showroom whereas the GT Plus DSG costs Rs. 17.49 lakhs ex-showroom. Then there are Highline variants. The manual gearbox costs Rs. 12.79 lakhs while the automatic gearbox is priced at Rs. 14.09 lakhs. The top-end trim in the Dynamic group is Topline which costs Rs. 14.56 lakhs for the manual gearbox whereas the automatic transmission costs Rs. 15.9 lakhs.
Taigun’s exterior looks like a typical Volkswagen, with its simple and clean lines. It has the most road presence when compared with the competition. The Volkswagen’s Taigun has a boxy design with flat body panels and bonnet to give it the SUV proportions.
There are dual-pod LED projector headlamps up-front that neatly integrate into the chrome slats of the Volkswagen grille. If we talk about lower variants, there are LED Daytime Running Lamps on offer too. Volkswagen’s Taigun is the first SUV in the segment to come with a light bar that connects both the rear tail lamps.
If we talk about the interior, the GT Line gets faux carbon fiber and silver inserts. There is a fully digital instrument cluster. Features like cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control with touch-sensitive controls, wireless charger, and there is a new generation touchscreen infotainment system, an electric sunroof, rear parking camera with sensors, push button to start/stop, ventilated seats, etc. are also added.
