Volvo XC 90: Price, Specifications, Features

New Delhi: Volvo XC 90 is introduced as a mild-hybrid car that features a new grille and new wheels. The luxury carmaker also offers a 6-seat layout as well. Volvo is better known for the Excellence plug-in hybrid variant. The facelift model of Volvo XC 90 was launched in India on 11 November 2021.

The company offers Volvo XC90 in the price range of Rs 77.41 lakh to Rs 1.31 crore (ex-showroom). Volvo XC90 is available in five variants: Momentum, R-Design, Inscription, T8 Inscription, and Excellence.

The base model of Volvo XC90 is B6 Inscription 7STR and the top variant Volvo XC 90 T8 Excellence comes at a price tag of Rs. 1.31 Cr.

The rivals of Volvo XC90 are Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X5, Range Rover Velar, and the Audi Q7.



The Volvo XC90 comes with two engines options: a 2.0-liter diesel engine or a 2.0-liter petrol hybrid engine. The diesel engine produces 235PS of maximum power and 480Nm of torque, while the petrol hybrid produces 400PS/640Nm. The facelifted variant has got new alloy wheels and new paint options.

The luxury car-maker offers both engines with 8-speed automatic transmission.


Volvo XC90 offers safety features like seven airbags, radar-based adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, collision avoidance (front and rear) and city braking system, blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert, and run-off road protection.

It also offers a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, powered front seats with massage function, a crystal gear knob, and a vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment system with a Bower and Wilkins sound system.

The facelifted variant includes an advanced air purifier, heated front seats with massage function, a 19-speaker stereo system. The Volvo XC90 facelift is available in four color options: Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Pine Grey, and White Pearl.
