Ahmedabad Demolition Drive: 2,092 Families Set to Lose Their Homes as AMC Clears Illegal Structures

Ahmedabad News: A major anti-encroachment drive has once again been launched in Ahmedabad. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has begun demolition operations at Makarba and Alif Row Houses located on the SG Highway. In this latest action, AMC officials cleared 292 illegally built houses using bulldozers, freeing up government land. It was revealed that these structures were constructed on reserved plots and TP (Town Planning) roads of the corporation.
According to sources, the AMC's encroachment department has resumed its campaign to reclaim government land in various parts of the city.
As a start, the demolition activity was carried out in Sarkhej, Makarba, and Alif Row Houses, targeting 292 homes of people who were living there illegally.
The demolition operation was conducted under tight police security to prevent any chaos.

According to the sources, the corporation plans to demolish another 258 houses and 28 commercial units in the upcoming days. In total, 2,092 houses and commercial units will be demolished.
