BBMP Strict action 2024: Bulldozers Demolish Unauthorized Structures
On October 28, the BBMP officials, goaded by the alarming warning from Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, have started demolition work in the busy area of Majestic where a new illegal structure has raised eyebrows and violated several regulations.
Demolition of Illegal Structure by BBMP
The site belonged to a builder named Dilip Kumar, which had allegedly been encroaching on the public footpaths by two to three meters while constructing floors beyond the four-story approved limit. Although the builders received notices to stop constructing, they did not take heed of the warnings, hence BBMP had to step in with bulldozers to stop the construction.

Majestic is an area where thousands of pedestrians move about on a daily basis. It is not just an eyesore but hazardous, given the unauthorized construction. The bulldozers roared into action; the BBMP officials had embarked on their quest to reclaim order and safety at the vibrant location.
Rules, What Rules?
Officials have cited multiple violations on the part of the building's plan approval. They said permission was given for a two-storey building with a deck. On the ground, it was a three-storey construction, and now BBMP is cracking down. Commissioner Archana in charge of the West Zone of BBMP is operating this demolition work. Within this operation, today just the part of the house which has intruded over the road would be pulled down. But BBMP believes that a second notice calling for complete razing was due and is prepared with additional steps to be made if no response comes.
