In a disturbing incident at Bengaluru's Chandra Suvarna Layout Park, a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl were assaulted by a group enforcing moral policing. The couple was sitting on a scooter when confronted by five individuals who questioned their relationship and religious backgrounds. The assailants recorded the interaction, interrogated the girl about her family's knowledge of her whereabouts, and criticized her for being with someone of a different faith. The situation escalated when the group forcibly took the boy aside and physically assaulted him, while admonishing the girl.​

Police Response and Arrests​

Initially, the police denied any violence; however, video evidence surfaced showing the group surrounding the couple and assaulting them. Following the girl's complaint, five individuals—Wasim, Mansoor, Afrid, Mahin, and a minor—were arrested.​

Political Reactions​

The incident has sparked political reactions, with Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge stating that moral policing will not be tolerated in the state.
