Bengaluru Man Loses Job for Threatening Woman with Acid Attack Over "Choice of Clothing

A Bengaluru man has lost his job after threatening a woman with an acid attack over her clothing choices. Nikith Shetty was dismissed from his position following a tweet from the woman's husband, journalist Shahbaz Ansar, which called for immediate action.

Ansar shared offensive messages directed at his wife on X (formerly Twitter), tagging the Bengaluru Police, Karnataka Chief Minister, and DK Shivkumar to urge a strong response. The tweet quickly went viral, prompting Shetty's employer to act decisively.

Following this, Etios Services, where Shetty worked as a business development manager, took action against him and fired him from his position.

The company stated that Shetty's employment has been terminated for a period of five years and that they have filed a case against him to ensure accountability for his actions.

"We are deeply saddened to address a serious incident involving one of our employees, Nikith Shetty, who made a threatening statement regarding another individual's choice of clothing. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable and goes against the core values we uphold at Etios Services," the company said in its statement.

In a thread of tweets, Ansar noted that the Bengaluru Police responded and requested his mobile number so they could take action against the man.
