Bengaluru Man Hides Wife’s Body in Suitcase, Gets Caught After Shocking Confession

In a tragic and shocking incident in Bengaluru, a 36-year-old man named Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar has been arrested for murdering his 32-year-old wife, Gouri Anil Sambrekar. The crime came to light on Thursday evening when Rakesh called his landlord and confessed to the murder. He told the landlord that he had killed Gouri the night before and left the city.
The couple had been staying in a rented first-floor house in Doddakammanahalli, near Hulimavu, for just a month. Gouri, who had a degree in mass media, had recently shifted to Bengaluru from Mumbai in search of a job. Rakesh worked as a project manager at a software company.
Landlord Alerted Police After Shocking Call
According to police officials, the crime was reported around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rakesh made a phone call to their landlord and told him to inform the police and Gouri’s family about the murder and funeral arrangements. The landlord, shocked and confused, rushed to the house but found it locked from the outside.
Worried about the situation, he called the emergency helpline number 112. Hulimavu police officers responded quickly. After entering the house by force, they discovered Gouri’s body stuffed inside a large trolley suitcase.
Police Track Down Accused in Pune with Mobile Signal
Police officers noticed that Rakesh’s mobile phone was still switched on, which helped them trace his location. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast Division) Sarah Fathima coordinated with Maharashtra police to catch him.
Bengaluru police teams travelled to Pune and, with help from local officers, arrested Rakesh around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday as he was driving towards the city. He is now being brought back to Bengaluru for further investigation and questioning.
Investigation Underway in Bengaluru Murder Case
The motive behind the murder is still being investigated, and police are gathering details to understand what led to this shocking crime. The case has left the local community in disbelief, especially since the couple had only recently moved into the neighborhood.
Authorities are expected to question Rakesh further to uncover the full truth behind the tragic killing of his wife, Gouri.
