Bengaluru: Vinod Dhondale Suicide Case - Police Suspect Kannada TV Serial Director Was Under Huge Debts

Vinod Dhondale, a well-known director and producer in the Kannada television industry, was found dead at his Bengaluru residence on Saturday morning in an apparent suicide. He was 49 years old.
The tragic discovery was made around 11:30 AM when Dhondale's wife, Geetha, found him unresponsive. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) S Girish stated, "The deceased left a note indicating that he did not blame anyone for his death, taking full responsibility for his actions."
Living in Maruthi Nagar, Nagarbhavi with his wife and three children, Dhondale was reportedly under immense financial strain. According to police sources, he had substantial debts and was struggling to manage them. A significant portion of his financial troubles stemmed from his investment in the film 'Ashok Blade', which was over budget despite being 70% complete.
Dhondale was renowned for his work on TV serials like ‘Karimani’, ‘Shantam Paapam’, and ‘Mounaraga’. He was in the process of transitioning to the big screen with his own movie project.
The Chandra Layout police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his demise.
