Bengaluru: Woman Becomes Blinkit Delivery Agent for a Day - Here’s What She Discovered
A Bengaluru woman’s social media post has gone viral after she shared her experience working as a Blinkit delivery agent for a day. The woman, named Sneha, decided to take on this role to gain firsthand insight into how Blinkit’s delivery system operates. Her detailed post not only attracted significant attention online but also caught the eyes of Blinkit’s CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Sajal Gupta.
Sneha took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her journey as a Blinkit delivery partner, where she delivered several orders in Indiranagar. While she found the experience fulfilling, earning some money and understanding the delivery process, she also highlighted areas where Blinkit could improve. Specifically, she suggested that the platform’s product team should revisit their app to address certain issues.
In her post, Sneha mentioned, “Signed up to be a Blinkit delivery partner and delivered a few orders around Indiranagar today. It was amazing. I earned some money, talked to a few riders, and learned how the whole system works. But Blinkit’s product team, I think it’s high time you revisit the app.”
She further pointed out discrepancies, such as misleading SMS messages regarding earnings. She noted, “This whole message is too gimmicky. Please don’t give false hope or misinformation to the riders. After delivering a few orders, I know how hard it is to earn ₹50,000. Also, where is my ₹2,000 bonus? I couldn’t find any terms and conditions for it.”
Additionally, Sneha highlighted the lack of proper seating areas and drinking water facilities for the delivery riders.
Netizens React to Sneha’s Viral Post
Sneha’s post quickly gained traction, amassing over 1 million views on X. Many users praised her for providing valuable insights and sharing her experience in such detail.
One user commented, “Nice job. Working with Zomato on Sunday is quite beneficial. I earned ₹2,300 the last time I worked.”
Another added, “This is a great observation! Curious about what made you try this in the first place? Now I want to try Zepto to compare.”
Several others appreciated her constructive feedback, with one user writing, “Well done on showing the process. But as you rightly said, earning ₹50,000 per month gives a false sense of hope at the beginning.”
Another user admired her commitment, stating, “This level of curiosity and dedication to understanding the delivery partner’s experience is impressive. She did it without condescending to the real delivery workers. So classy.”
Blinkit CEO and CTO Respond
Sneha’s tweet also drew the attention of Blinkit’s leadership. CEO Albinder Dhindsa responded by thanking her for the feedback, stating, “Good points here. We will address these issues and report back soon.” CTO Sajal Gupta also appreciated her input, noting that her feedback led to immediate improvements in the onboarding experience for new delivery partners.
Gupta outlined five key changes that have been implemented, including making app illustrations more inclusive and upgrading the seating areas, which will become the standard across Blinkit’s stores.
