BJP Targets 6 Key Congress Leaders

Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its political strategy against the Congress in Karnataka by targeting not just Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, but also six other prominent Congress leaders. The BJP is leveraging various allegations, including the MUDA scam, to mount pressure on the ruling Congress government.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who played a crucial role in leading the opposition against the BJP during their tenure, is now at the forefront of the BJP's attack. During his time as the Leader of the Opposition, Siddaramaiah successfully rallied public opinion against the BJP, highlighting the government's failures and corruption allegations, which contributed to the BJP's significant defeat in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections. Now, the BJP is employing a similar strategy to challenge Siddaramaiah's administration.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who also served as the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President during the BJP's rule, is another key target. Shivakumar was instrumental in organizing several protests and campaigns against the previous BJP government. The BJP is reportedly preparing to use allegations of illegal money transfers and disproportionate assets against Shivakumar as part of their strategy.

Priyank Kharge, the current Minister of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, and IT-BT, is also in the BJP's crosshairs. Kharge was vocal against the BJP during their term, leading protests on various issues, including the "40% commission" allegation and the Bitcoin scam. The BJP has recently accused him of involvement in the CA Site Scam, and the party is expected to intensify its campaign against him.

MB Patil, the current Minister of Industries, is another Congress leader under BJP's scrutiny. Known for his influence in the Lingayat-dominated regions of North Karnataka, Patil is facing allegations related to the acquisition of industrial land. The BJP is reportedly gathering evidence to strengthen their case against him.

Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, who was active in opposing the BJP government, especially on communalism and corruption charges, has also been named in the BJP's hit list.

Labor Minister Santosh Lad, known for his sharp rebuttals to BJP's accusations, is also a target. Lad has been defending the Congress government against BJP and JD(S) allegations with data and counter-arguments, making him a key figure in the ongoing political tussle.

The BJP's strategy seems to be focused on discrediting these Congress leaders by highlighting various allegations and using them to weaken the ruling party's position in Karnataka. As the political battle heats up, it remains to be seen how these developments will impact the Congress government in the state.
