BENGALURU — German-based transport company FlixBus has officially entered the South Indian market, launching its bus services from Bengaluru to several major towns in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh. With an initial offer price of just ₹99, FlixBus aims to provide affordable, safe, and comfortable travel for passengers as it expands its operations in the region.

Starting September 10, FlixBus will connect Bengaluru with cities including Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Belagavi. The company also has ambitious plans to extend its reach to 33 cities across South India, providing over 200 connections. This expansion is part of their broader strategy to establish a robust public transport network in India.

Plans for Wider Expansion

FlixBus has also announced plans to launch services in 101 additional cities across India, with 215 stops throughout the country. The company's entry into the Indian market comes with the promise of revolutionizing the public transport system, offering modern, efficient, and sustainable travel options.

Launch Event and Government Support

The launch event in Bengaluru saw the participation of Karnataka minister MB Patil, who expressed his excitement about the arrival of FlixBus in the state. In a social media post, he wrote, "Happy to launch @FlixBus in Bengaluru, marking the start of their service in South India! With operations in 40+ countries, they are set to enhance public transport options and connectivity."

Commitment to Passenger Safety and Comfort

FlixBus is also committed to ensuring passenger safety and comfort with its fleet of modern buses. Each bus is equipped with advanced features such as ABS (anti-lock braking system), ESC (electronic stability control), and 2-point seat belts for every seat. These safety measures, combined with state-of-the-art technology, aim to make long-distance travel more reliable and secure.

As FlixBus expands its presence in India, it seeks to reshape the landscape of public transport, offering a cost-effective alternative for travelers across the country. With operations in over 40 countries, the company is poised to become a key player in the Indian transport sector.
