Karnataka Minister M.B. Patil Announces 100-Acre Startup Park Between Belagavi and Hubball

Belagavi, August 30 – Karnataka Minister M.B. Patil has announced plans to establish a 100-acre Startup Park between Belagavi and Hubballi, a move aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among young innovators in the region. The announcement was made during a press conference held in Belagavi, where the minister outlined the state government's vision for boosting the local economy through strategic infrastructure development.

Patil emphasized that the proposed Startup Park, located on the Belagavi-Goa highway, will serve as a key hub for emerging businesses, providing necessary resources and support to startups. "Bengaluru is already recognized as the startup capital, and we are expanding this vision by creating similar opportunities here. This park will be a significant boost for young entrepreneurs," he said.

In addition to the Startup Park, Patil also addressed plans for an Industrial Park in the area. He mentioned that while there were earlier proposals for an international airport near Kittur, the upgrade of Belagavi and Hubballi airports to higher standards made this unnecessary. The state government is now focusing on developing an industrial corridor between Belagavi and Hubballi, which is expected to further enhance the region's economic landscape.

Patil also touched on the challenges faced in establishing a direct railway link between Hubballi and Belagavi, citing alignment issues as the primary obstacle. "We recently held meetings to address this, and technical measures have been recommended. The distance between Belagavi and Bengaluru has already been reduced by five hours, thanks to these efforts," he noted.

Responding to speculation about his potential as a future Chief Minister, Patil dismissed any personal ambitions, stating, "While I have aspirations, I am not driven by greed. The party and its legislators must agree for someone to become Chief Minister; I cannot declare myself as one. All ministers and MLAs are firmly supporting CM Siddaramaiah."

This announcement marks a significant step in Karnataka's ongoing efforts to promote innovation and industrial growth across the state, particularly in regions outside Bengaluru. The Startup Park and Industrial Park initiatives are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Belagavi-Hubballi corridor.
