Chennai: The ongoing conflict between Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) coordinator Seeman and Trichy SP Varun Kumar has intensified, leading to the arrest of two NTK members by cybercrime police. The arrests were made following a complaint by Varun Kumar, who alleged that obscene and defamatory content was posted about him and his family on social media.
The tensions escalated when Seeman accused SP Varun Kumar of targeting NTK leaders, including the arrest of NTK leader Saattai Durai Murugan, claiming it was part of a planned vendetta. Seeman also accused Varun Kumar of harboring caste-based biases, further fueling the controversy.
In response to the online abuse, Varun Kumar, along with his wife Vanditha Pandey, who is also an IPS officer, announced their decision to step back from social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Varun Kumar shared a list of around 50 individuals responsible for the offensive posts, vowing to take legal action against them without exception.
The cybercrime police recently arrested three individuals involved in the case, including a college student, who was later warned and released by Varun Kumar. The dispute between Seeman and Varun Kumar continues to escalate, with both sides exchanging sharp statements, further intensifying the situation.
