Chennai T Nagar fire case

CHENNAI 12, May: A big fire broke out on Monday at a cloth shop on Ranganathan Street in T Nagar, Chennai. People nearby saw thick smoke and big flames coming from the building.

Firefighters came quickly and worked hard to stop the fire. It took them about two hours to control it. Luckily, no one was hurt in the fire.

Officials think the fire may have started because of a short circuit (when wires spark and catch fire). Police stopped traffic in the area so firefighters could work safely.

Shops near the fire were also closed for safety. Now, officers are checking what really caused the fire and if the shop had safety measures.

Further details are awaited.
